Do I have to reserve a seat for my infant on Spirit Airlines?

Please note that one adult can carry only one lap child. If an adult is traveling with more than one infant under 2 years of age, a seat will have to be purchased for every additional infant.

Yes, a ticket will have to be purchased for any flight on which the infant will be over 2 years old.

All pets should meet following qualifications in order to travel in the passenger cabin:

- Your pet should be able to remain comfortably in its kennel, under the seat for the entire flight.
- The kennel should be specifically made for animal carriage and its dimensions do not exceed 18in x 14in x 9in.
- The pet must have all necessary health documents required by your destination.

What are the kennel requirements?
USDA and Spirit Airlines require that kennels meet the following requirements:
- The kennel should be leak-proof and escape-proof.
- It should be properly ventilated, but not allow any part of the animal from protruding outside of the container.
- It should provide enough room for the animal to stand and turn around.
- It should be made of metal, wood, or a hard plastic/composite.
- It should contain absorbent material or litter.
- It should have functional handles on the kennel's exterior to prevent tilting and any direct contact with the animals.
- It should be closed securely, but not locked.
- It should have labels with the words "Live Animal" in letters at least 1-inch tall on the crate's top and on at least one side.
- It should have upright arrow labels indicating kennel's correct position.
What health documentation is required for my pet to fly?
Spirit Airlines does not require a health certificate for your pet. However, some States and Countries do require health documents. It is passenger's responsibility to be aware of all regulations.
