Google SEO

Google is undoubtedly the most used search engine used by billions of people across the world to find information on the internet. According to a recent study, Google is the top and most used and most trusted search engine in the United States. About 72% of total online searches is done using the Google Search Engine.

This is why most bloggers and webmasters wish to rank high in Google search results. This doesn’t means that other search engines such as Yahoo, Bing, AOL etc should be ignored.

Ranking high on Google needs some study, research and real work. Just creating a website or blog with content, pictures and videos is not going to help. It is said that content is king. Buy without proper Search Engine Optimization (SEO), no good content is going to help. Little study and research followed by some hard work can give higher search engine ranking and results.

Content is King. Write Original. Avoid Duplicate Content

In this online business, content is king followed by some SEO. Duplicate content may find some place in search engine results, but only for some limited period. Sooner or later it will find its place in the trash.

What is Original Content?

Original content refers to a written content on a useful topic that offers some benefit to the reader. It should not have been published elsewhere on the internet. However, a writer can take some references from the internet but cannot “copy & paste” entire content.

What is duplicate content?

Duplicate content refers to a written content that has already been published on the internet. Contents cannot be copied exactly and pasted and published elsewhere or on multiple blogs or websites. Many bloggers and spammers use duplicate content to inflate their web page count and abuse keywords. This trick is called "black-hat SEO" method. It may work sometime but for a limited time.

Paraphrasing

Paraphrasing content is different from duplicate content. Google and other search engines permit to have various articles on the same subject. The problem occurs when bloggers and webmasters duplicate content without making any changes.

Keywords Research

Keywords play an important role in Search Engine Optimization. Google decides the theme and subject of a website or blog based on keywords. A website about SEO should contain words relating to SEO. A website or blog about SEO cannot have keywords such as “how to get rich”. Google automatically knows the overall subject of the entire website or blog based on keywords used across the site.

Keywords are important because searchers use them. When a searcher types a keyword into the search box, Google returns a list of the most relevant websites. The websites appearing on the first page are those with keywords relevant to the searcher's query. Make sure to use relevant keywords throughout your website's content. Google External Keyword Tool is a great place to start keyword research.

One-Way Backlinks

One-way backlinks are external links pointing to a blog or a website. Bloggers often exchange links but this is not real backlink. Backlink should be a one way traffic. A website or a website linking to another website or blog should not ask for anything in return. This is real one-way backlink. Google uses the amount and quality of one-way backlinks to determine the popularity and importance of a website.

There are several ways to get one-way backlinks. Writing and publishing articles or various platforms one a link back to the original website or blog is a popular method. Many bloggers and webmasters write and publish articles on ezine articles and free blogs (blogger, Squidoo or Hubpages).
